Privacy notice
Plain version: here is what reaches me when you contact this site, what I do with it, and what control stays in your hands. This is one person doing review work. There is no newsletter, no sales pipeline, and no office inbox passing your message around.
Who is responsible
This site is run by Nolan Vale, who reviews and reshapes service-page and FAQ answers. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and laws like it, the party answerable for the handling described below is the operator of answerengineoptimization.info. To raise a privacy question or use one of your rights, write to hello@answerengineoptimization.info.
What reaches me
When you submit the form, the following lands in my inbox:
- Your name and email address, so that I can reply and address you properly.
- An alternative contact, if you choose to add one (phone, LinkedIn, Signal), for when email is not how you would rather talk.
- Whatever you write about the page: the URL, the reader and decision behind it, and where the answer starts to blur. Only name and email are required; everything else is yours to share or hold back.
These details serve one job: replying to the page you sent. I build no list, I hand your details to no one else, and I gather nothing beyond our exchange. Saved alongside the message are the time it arrived and a salted SHA-256 hash of your IP address, which is the thing that keeps automated abuse out. The raw IP is never stored, and neither are browser fingerprints or device traits.
What I deliberately skip
- No tracking cookies. Any analytics I use is cookie-free and keeps no per-visitor identifier.
- No retargeting pixels, no marketing-automation tags, and no ad-network trackers anywhere on the site.
- No automated profiling, and no automated decisions that carry a legal effect for you.
- No selling or sharing of personal information with commercial partners. That is simply not how this practice earns its keep.
The legal basis I rely on
Messages from the form are handled under GDPR art. 6(1)(b), as steps taken at your request before any possible engagement. The IP hash that shields the form from abuse rests on GDPR art. 6(1)(f), a legitimate interest in keeping the form working. Where payment-outcome data exists, it sits on the contractual basis.
How long it lives here
- Form messages: held through the engagement and for 24 months afterward, so the work stays traceable, then removed. Inquiries that do not turn into work are held for 12 months and then removed.
- Payment records: held for as long as tax and accounting rules require (often 5–6 years), then removed.
- IP hashes: held for 90 days, enough for abuse protection, then removed.
- Email threads: held while we are working together, or for 24 months after our last message, whichever runs longer.
Your rights
Under GDPR and similar laws you can ask to see your information, correct it, erase it, take it elsewhere, limit how it is used, or object to its use. For any of these, write to hello@answerengineoptimization.info and I will respond within 30 days. If you think the rules have been broken, you can complain to your local data-protection authority.
Where the data lives
The servers behind this site sit in European Union (Germany). Should any further processors (email provider) operate outside the European Union, those transfers rely on standard contractual clauses alongside the safeguards each one publishes.
Changes to this notice
I update this notice whenever the way I handle information changes in a way that matters. The "Updated" date at the top shows the current version. When a change is significant, I flag it on the home page for 30 days so returning visitors notice.
